RESEARCH INTERESTS


Digital Development of Tissue Engineering for TMJ Arthritis

(1) Utilizing digital technologies to develop tissue engineering solutions for the treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) arthritis.

(2) Conducting basic experimental animal studies and molecular biology research to investigate the underlying mechanisms of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) arthritis.

Oral Microbiota Research

(1) Leveraging next-generation sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatics tools to analyze microbial communities and their impact on oral and systemic health.

(2) Investigating microbiome dynamics in diseases such as periodontal disease and dental caries, with a particular focus on systemic connections in aging populations.

(3) Developing personalized oral healthcare strategies to improve overall health outcomes.

Extended Reality (XR) Technologies in Dental Education and Clinical Applications

(1)  Enhancing dental education by integrating XR technologies.

(2)  Improving clinician-patient decision-making and surgical simulations through XR applications.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Applications in Dentistry

(1)  Examining the impact of background effects on deep learning models for classifying decayed, missing, and filled teeth (DMFT-AI).

(2)  Developing the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Needed (IOTN-AI) model to mimic human decision-making in assessing orthodontic treatment needs.

(3) Implementing deep learning techniques for the segmentation of maxillofacial anatomical structures on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images.
