MS Program

Program Objectives

  • Providing education and training for students to cultivate the capacity to approach public health problems, and to design and carry out public health programs.
  • Providing the platform for mutual learning and collaboration among international and local students.


Scope Of Curriculum

  • The curriculum is based on the courses jointly offered by seven graduate institutes and includes courses such as Public Health; Health & Welfare; Environmental Health; Healthcare & Hospital Administration; Health Information & Decision Making; Nursing and Clinical Medicine. Other departments and institutes at Yang Ming University, such as Social Medicine, Tropical Medicine, may also offer relevant courses.
  • A minimum of 24 credits in courses and a six-credit master's thesis.
  • Students will earn the "Master of Science" degree from International Health Program after completing their studies.


Qualification

Completion of a bachelor's degree in biology, medicine, and/or other health sciences or related fields at public or registered private universities and independent colleges, or foreign universities and colleges approved by the Ministry of Education, ROC (Taiwan).


Application

Application Deadline & Procedure: usually before the end of March every year, please click HERE for online application.

  • Application Form (Applicants must complete an online application)
  • Two Letters of Recommendation
  • Study and research plan (Please TYPE in English)
  • Purpose of study: Delineating the reasons for studying in Taiwan
  • Plans of study: Stating specific area of interest, and proposed subject of current or future research objectives
  • Anticipated results: Stating how the intended study will help fulfill personal and scientific goals
  • One official copy of the highest-level diploma/certificate (or equivalent academic attainment) AND one original copy of transcripts issued by the institution (with translation to English or Chinese, if in other languages)
  • Master's program applicants: Bachelor's (or above) degree diploma/transcripts
    ※NOTE: The graduation diploma/certificate of foreign educational institution and transcripts shall be subjected to validation by the R.O.C. (Taiwan) embassy /representative office (in applicant’s country) in accordance with requirements of the Ministry of Education, R.O.C.
  • English proficiency: For international applicant whose native language is not English, TOEFL (a minimum score of 80 above on the IBT ) or IELTS (above 6.5) is required, taken within the past five years. Other appropriate proofs of English proficiency provided by the R.O.C. embassies are also acceptable.
  • Financial statement shows your financial support during the study period.

* For TaiwanICDF scholarship application, applicants MUST successfully complete two application procedures - One for IHP and the other for TaiwanICDF  scholarship.

* TaiwanICDF scholarship applicants MUST contact the R.O.C. (Taiwan) embassy/representative office in your country for further interview process or your application will be considered as incomplete.
