No ACQUAINTANCE No Part IHP 
Welcome all first-year students to become IHPers. Glad to see everyone enjoying this event and meeting many new friends.

Here is the feedback from our first-year Master student, Wilailak Saengsri from Thailand.

Getting to know people and making new friends as an adult in foreign countries have never been easy for me and for many of us too, I believe. Although we have been taking up the same classes in the past month, we still have little chance to really get to know each other. This acquaintance party is a special event that gathers all IHPers together in the same physical setting, making connections and friendship feel so natural and hence, we are undoubtedly easier to become acquainted with our peers. At the event, I met both familiar and unfamiliar faces, whom I knew personally and whom I had not known yet at the time. At least, right after this party, I can now recognise all of us. I was very touched by the vibe of this event, as our seniors always say, “the purpose of this event was not only to get to know each other, but also to let you know that we are someone that you can always turn to in times of need”. These words mean a lot to me. I truly hope that we, the first-year students now, can be someone that our juniors can turn to when they face difficulties as well. Before I end this review, I would like to say ‘thank you’ to IHP staff and our seniors for organising this event.

When you come to another country, it is always more difficult to communicate with people, especially if they are all very different. The previous Friday we had Acquaintance party, where I met new students and the organized activities helped us get to know each other better, find similarities and just have fun. It was interesting to try dishes from other cultures that I had never even heard of before. I am grateful for this experience, which brought me a lot of positive emotions.

On October 7 (Friday afternoon) the IHP students at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University have had acquaintance party, the IHP student representative (Ruchel) has invited every year level for IHPiers students to join and participate the acquaintance
party held at fourth floor of Medical Building 2 and Most IHPiers students have attended and participated it. Every year level prepared some sort of fun, and presentations, as the most of IHPiers students at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University come from different nationalities they have prepared common snacks from their countries and then shared other students. That acquaintance party it was more of meeting and getting to know each other.
Frankly speaking, I have attended many parties on different occasions in my life but the most enjoyable one was the last acquaintance party, it was well organized and
commenced on time, we all had an amazing time at the party, we had entertainment session, we have danced and had a lot of fun throughout that event. Everybody socialized, the best part was the fact that everyone was happy with the celebration and there were smiles all around the students. While stayed Taiwan for one year, I have not got any opportunity to eat my country’s snacks, but that party I have got opportunity to eat my country’s (Somaliland) snacks made by our great girls from my country, also the other extra- advantage opportunity was, I got opportunity to eat different countries’ snacks made by our remarkable students those from different nations.
I will never forget such wonderful and amazing acquaintance party organized by the IHP student representative and her colleagues. Thank you so much Ruchel, the IHP student representative and Administrative of IHP department as well as everyone who participated it.
