🌟 Special Lecture Recap 🌟
We've concluded an impactful session on the rights of individuals with disabilities! 🗓️ On October 20, 2023, Mr. Oliver Lewis who is an expert and lawyer in Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). He shared profound insights during the lecture, shedding light on the critical topic of utilizing litigation to protect the rights of persons with disabilities.
The feedback from our first-year Master student, Shea Shanee Monima from Belize has been overwhelmingly positive. Here's what she had to say:
"The lecture delved into the power of litigation as a tool to safeguard the rights of individuals with disabilities, offering a comprehensive view at the intersection of policy-making, public health, and legal advocacy. Exploring historical perspectives and pivotal legal cases, it brilliantly illustrated how litigation not only protects rights but also sparks broader societal transformations and enhances public health policies.
It emphasized the importance of legal protection while underscoring the pivotal role of integrating disability rights into public health policy frameworks. It's about shaping a society that prioritizes inclusion and accessibility. Ultimately, the session underscored the indispensable fusion of legal advocacy and public health initiatives. Together, they pave the way for a fairer, more inclusive society that upholds the dignity and rights of every individual, regardless of ability."
A huge thank you to Mr. Oliver Lewis for an enlightening session, and to all the attendees for your active participation and insightful contributions! Let's continue advocating for a world that embraces diversity and ensures equal rights for everyone. 🌍✨ #social #justice #human #right #course
