"Cultural exchange is a bridge beyond borders." - Ann Lindeberg

Thank you for this unforgettable opportunity from Taipei Municipal Dong-Hu Junior High School and ICDF to let our students to introduce their hometown. This was a very special experience for students to communicate with Junior High school students in their own language. Here’s some feedback from our fourth-year Phd student, Arnat Wannasri from Thailand.

On May 30, 2023, the ICDF event took place at Taipei Municipal Dong-Hu Junior High School. As ICDF scholarship recipients, my friends from Belize, Vietnam, and I had the privilege of visiting the school to introduce our countries to the enthusiastic grade 7 students. I was assigned the task of representing Thailand, and to my delight, some of the students already had a good understanding of Thailand, especially its delectable cuisine.
To foster a spirit of camaraderie, we organized various engaging activities with the students. We played classic games such as musical chairs, BINGO, and even had a language exchange session. Laughter filled the air as we bonded with the students over these fun-filled endeavors. The teachers were also actively involved and shared their insights with us.
Engaging in such volunteer activities brings me immense joy. It not only allows me to contribute to society but also provides valuable opportunities for personal growth and learning. This ICDF event at Dong-Hu Junior High School was a wonderful experience that reinforced my commitment to giving back and embracing cross-cultural interactions.
