Three Campuses Video Conference (OSU, TMU, NYCU)

"The secret of success is to do the common thing uncommonly well." – John D. Rockefeller Jr.

★Here’s the feedback of our first-year PhD. Presenter, Teddy Rowell Umbao Mondres from Philippines.

The Joint Seminar was a great opportunity for us NYCU students to share experiences and practices from our countries, together with our colleagues from Taipei Medical U and Oregon State U. We discussed the controversial topic on Cannabis and its associated public health implications, and tackle the issues around legalization from different countries with different policies. I’d like to give my appreciation to my co-presenters, Jade and Ping, who were also eager to share their insights, and Prof. Alex for the guidance. I’m also grateful to our participants from different time zones who took part and interacted in the discussion, and provided a global atmosphere.

Thank you and we look forward to the next discussion!

Today we had a Three- Universities Joint Seminar-TMU.NYCU.OSU with an interesting topic which was the public health implications of Cannabis policies in the Philippines, Thailand, and Canada. This topic provided me not only a general picture of Cannabis policies globally but also the various impacts of cannabis on health, the economy, and society. Besides, it was great to learn about this issue from my friends in different countries. I was so proud of my classmates because of their very cool presentation.

★Here’s the feedback of our first-year Ph.D student, Septian Emma Dwi Jatmika from Indonesia.

Thank you to IHP for organizing this joint seminar with an interesting topic.

Through this seminar, we learned a lot about cannabis policy, particularly in Thailand, the Philippines, and Canada. Cannabis legalization is still being disputed in numerous nations, particularly in terms of public health. We learned from this seminar that every country has a national interest that governs the development of the country's policy decisions. Based on the sources' mentioned, I may conclude that the state should examine the costs and benefits of a cannabis legalization policy. Health, economic, social, and political factors must all be thoroughly investigated. Aside from that, government oversight of cannabis use is essential when a country decides to legalize it.  I really appreciate Jade, Ping, and Tedz for their amazing presentations.

The topic of Three Campuses Video Conference is “Beyond the High:

Public Health Implications of Cannabis Policies in the Philippines, Thailand, and Canada”👍
